SPEAKER, DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, RT. HONOURABLE VICTOR OCHEI.

ASABA, July 26, (THEWILL) - The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Engr.) Victor Ochei has called on Nigeria to encourage religious tolerance as a vehicle for the sustenance of unity and development of the country.

He made the call at Otor-Udu during a thanksgiving service organized by the citizens of the town in honour of Hon Liege Lord Keston Okoro, representing the Udu constituency at the Delta State legislature.

According to Hon. Ochei, the call stemmed from the observation on the occasion, where Christians and Muslims congregated during the prayer session for Hon Okoro.

He further added that, such level of religious maturity was a gesture worth emulating, considering that the serial strife bestriding Nigeria at present, may not be totally divorced from religious intolerance.

Hon. Ochei therefore, advised Nigerians to always opt for tolerance as the only avenue through which Nigerians will come to appreciate one another stressing that, “it is heart warming to see Christians and Muslims congregating for a common goal of ensuring that their representative brings dividends of closer to them.”
