The 5,138 pilgrims that participated in the Hajj in 2009 and 2010 through Kwara State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board are to benefit from the N63.3m royalty, feeding and security allowances to be disbursed by the board.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Mrs. Fatimoh Jimoh, said in Ilorin on Tuesday that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed gave the directive to refund the money to the pilgrims.

She said the refund was in accordance with the principle of Prophet Mohammed that urged muslims pilgrims to be accountable and transparent in all their deeds.

Jimoh said, 'We got the fund through the National Hajj Commission through Saudi Arabia. With this reason, they gave us the money and to disburse it to the pilgrims.

'What delayed the refund was due to administrative lapses, all the machineries have been put in place to ensure that the exercise is peaceful and we want all the affected pilgrims to conduct themselves peaceful.'
