SONY OUT WITH INTERNET TV MODELS

Global electronics giant, Sony Gulf, at the weekend,highlighted the benefits of convergence of technologies when it unveiled 25 BRAVIA TV models into the Nigerian market.

Sony said that of the 25 models, 20 are internet-enabled TVs. This means that one can do internet on his TV screen even as broadcast is on.

The new products are hinged on Network, connectivity and 3D platforms to give the user a wonderful experience. This, according to the company was in addition to a completely new picture enhancement technology, X-Reality, that reproduces high quality and realistic high definition and 3D video as well as also enhancing the picture quality of low resolution internet content.

Managing Director of the company, Mr Osamu Miura, who unveiled the television range at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, said the products were aimed at redefining home entertainment to meet the needs of today's contemporary and savvy consumer.

He said 'first there was the television that was a mere display device for passive viewing, then came the internet which was personal and interactive, and revolutionized the way people communicated.

And now, we cannot imagine life without the internet. Today, we introduce the new Sony Internet TV that combines the joys of watching high quality HD and 3D content, with the leisure of accessing the internet and social networking sites, along with a seamless connectivity with various devices such as mobile phones, the PlayStation 3 and Blu-ray disc players'
