GROUP BLAMES SAMBO-YAKOWA FEUD FOR CONFUSION IN KADUNA MINISTERIAL NOMINATION

By NBF News

Worried by what it called a cold war between Governor Ibrahim Yakowa and Vice President Namadi Sambo, a group which identified itself as Kaduna State Coalition for Unity and Good Governance has urged the governor to be fair to all political stakeholders in the state especially those of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement in Abuja, the group condemned what it described as Yakowa's negative actions and attitude towards the state PDP stakeholders since assuming office as the state chief executive.

In the statement issued after an emergency meeting, the coalition noted that the people of Kaduna State voted overwhelmingly for the PDP in both the presidential and gubernatorial elections with the mindset that that the government under the leadership of governor Yakowa would be just and fair to all irrespective of political affiliations.

Coordinator of the group, Comrade Ezekiel Maigari, who signed the statement, regretted that since assuming office, the governor has deliberately refused to heed advice from stakeholders who contributed both financially and otherwise to his success at the polls.

'We want to reiterate that a cabal has hijacked Governor Yakowa and he heeds to their advice and disregard constructive advice from prominent stakeholders and this will not augur well for the development of the state'.

Citing the confusion arising from the state ministerial nominee as a case in point, it said Kaduna State proved to the whole nation that things are not going on well here.

According to the group, while the vice president was disposed to the nomination of Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar, who also contributed immensely to Yakowa's success in the polls, the governor turned round and was busy fighting and insisting on fielding his own nominee thus disrespecting his mentor, Sambo.

The Coalition commended President Goodluck Jonathan for accepting a neutral candidate from Kaduna State, adding we as stakeholders of Kaduna Project see and regard vice president Namadi Sambo as the leader of the North and anything he says or directs stands.

The group urged governor Yakowa to descend from his Olympian height and carry everybody along in the governance of the state, 'We want to seize this opportunity to appeal and call on him to ensure he carries everybody along in the appointment of his commissioners and caretaker Chairmen of local government councils in the state, as anything contrary to this would bring about disaffection and disunity within the PDP family in Kaduna State.
