The Speaker who inaugurated the committee at the first plenary session yesterday, lamented the level of insecurity at the Assembly complex and noted that there was an urgent need to beef up security in the complex.

The Committee headed by Mr. Mathew Abiodun representing Ipokia/Idi-iroko constituency, has Joseph Adegbesan, Bowale Solaja and Mr Ayodeji as Secretary, while the State Security Service and criminal investigating department were asked to send a representative each in the committee

Addressing newsmen after the plenary session which lasted about 30 minutes, the Speaker said 'we have observed that there are a lot of security lapses in the complex and you could see what happened during the inauguration.

We observed that security in the complex was porous while we were going on inspection of facilities, that was why the House agreed to set up a committee during our executive meeting to look into how security of lives and property could be protected.'

The Speaker also constituted another committee on budget to fine-tune how the House of Assembly complex would be rehabilitated.

Adekunbi lamented that the Assembly complex was abandoned by immediate past administration.
