Airtel Supports Lagos Business School Alumni President’s dinner

Lagos, Nigeria – June 9, 2011: Leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria has entered into partnership with frontline academic institution, Lagos Business School (Pan African University) to sponsor this year's edition of the President's Dinner, an initiative of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA).

The event, which will attract top business executives and leading professionals in different fields of endeavour, will hold this weekend in Lagos. While Airtel is the first GSM service provider to open shop in Nigeria and has remained a leading contender in the industry ever since, LBS on the other hand, is ranked as number 50 in the world ranking of universities and number 2 in Africa.

Speaking on Airtel's sponsorship of the dinner, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Airtel Nigeria, Deepak Srivastava said Airtel is pleased to be part of such an important gathering of key players in the business community, assuring that company will always seek opportunities to be part of activities that helps to promote economic development

He also noted that the President's Dinner 2011 creates both a formal and informal platforms for the cross-fertilization of business ideas that will help move the nation forward, noting that the Pan African University has played a leading role in fostering the development of business leadership and entrepreneurial skills as well as job creation in Nigeria.

The company also plans to use the occasion to provide the guests an opportunity to register their SIMS considering the fast approaching deadline issued by the industry regulator, NCC..

The high point of the event is the celebration of the 20th anniversary of LBS in which Airtel will play a leading role. About 800 alumni and their spouses, as well as top company executives will be in attendance.

At the dinner, which is the apex social event of the LBS Alumni Association of about 4000 members, Airtel will showcase its latest value offerings.
