Bankole again declines to appear at EFCC...Lobbies Jonathan, PDP top, brass for Soft Landing

Ex Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, for the second time, in barely a week, refused to show up at the interrogation room of the Economic and Finacial Crime Comission (EFCC) to answer to a cocktail of allegatons of fraud.

The Speaker was scheduled to appear before the EFCC today (tuesday). Few days before the inauguration of President Gooduck Jonahan, Bankole was billed to appear before officials of the EFCC to say all he knows about strings of fraud allegedly perpetrated by him while he held sway as speaker. But did not show up. He had taken a N10billion loan through the back door , and blew it. He in concert with other top brass at the National Assembly, had also tried to get another N7 Billion loan.

Recall that Bankole, has a N2 Billion car scandal hanging over his head, plus another N9Billion rural electrification fraud.

When he refused to show up last week, Bankole's excuse was, he was tidying up the House's handover notes for the incoming leadership. But no offiial reason was given him for is 'no show' today.

Pointblankews.com however learnt that Bankole has embarked on high level lobbying of top brass of his party in bid to make all these go away, or at worst get a soft landng.

According to our source, he is also making concerted efforts to get the ear of President Jonathan, all to no avail.

Said our source" the President is not ready to entertain his etreaties. He has told all his party men who have issues with EFCC or ICPC to go clear their names"
