The annual Cardio-vascular Summit organised by Pfizer Nigeria and East Africa Region, NEAR, has received accreditation by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN.

An official letter signed by the registrar of the council and addressed to the Country Manager, Pfizer NEAR, Enrico Liggeri, stated that the council at its 5th plenary session, considered the request of Pfizer NEAR to have its annual international Cardiovascular Summit accredited for the purpose of awarding CPD credit units to participating doctors and has granted approval to this request.

In a press release by the Associate Director, Public Affairs and Communication, Mrs Margaret Olele, she stated that the accreditation comes at a time when Pfizer NEAR is consolidating its stand as a leader not only in the area of innovative medicines but also in the area of corporate social responsibility.

According to her, the event which started as a non promotional capacity building programme 3 years ago has now become a programme that doctors all over the Nigeria and Ghana look forward to eagerly.

With the accreditation of the event by the MDCN in Nigeria, attending doctors now get additional Continuing professional development credit units which is a pre- requisite for renewal of their annual practicing licenses.
