The very popular annual BET Awards is back and this year's ceremony is set to blow the minds of many with the line up of performers and side attractions.

The nominations for this year's awards have been released and the usual suspects make the list. US Rapper Kanye West and R&B pop star Chris Brown are nominated four times, the highest nods this year. They are followed by B.O.B and Willow Smith with three and Rihanna, Drake and Lil' Wayne.

Nigerian pop stars 2face Idibia and D'Banj have also been nominated as they fall under the 'Best International Act: Africa' category. Last year, Nigerians M.I and P Square were the first Nigerian acts to be included in the nominations list.

2face and D'banj will contend with Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, South African rap duo Teargas, D-Black from Ghana and the legendary singer Angelique Kidjo.

The show will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2011 and will be hosted by American actor and comedian Kevin Hart.
