By NBF News

Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Senator James John Akpanudoedehe has vowed to unseat the incumbent Governor, Godswill Akpabio notwithstanding his re-election in the April general polls.

Speaking with Daily Sun yesterday in Abuja, the former minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) accused Governor Akpabio of using the military and security agencies to rig election, boasting that in a free and fair election, Akpabio could not defeat him even if he was in prison.

He spoke after the case of treason brought against him by the Federal Government was adjourned to July 5 to enable the trial judge, Justice Adamu Bello to rule on whether or not to transfer the matter to Uyo.

Akpanudoedehe who vowed to challenge Akpabio's victory at the tribunal further criticised Akpabio for his inability to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

Meanwhile, the court could not proceed with the treason trial following an application filed by the Federal Government seeking to transfer the case to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

However, his counsel, Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) opposed to the application contending that the charge of treason could be tried in any part of the country.

Justice Bello therefore adjourned proceedings till July 5 to deliver his ruling on the matter.
