Hon.Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won a second term as governor of Rivers state.

Governor Amaechi polled 1,178,529 voters to beat 28 other candidates who contested the governorship election with him.

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi has won the governorship seat in the state beating incumbent Governor Alao Akala of the PDP.

Ajimobi polled 420,852 votes to Akala's 387,132, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Gov. Theodore Orji of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the governorship election in Abia State by Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

He polled 641,158 votes to defeat APGA candidate Ufumbo who got 49,421 votes.

Alhaji Tanko Almakura of CPC polls 324823 to win the governorship election in Nasarawa as declared by INEC.

However, in Delta State where incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is said to be leading with a slim margin, INEC is said to have postponed the announcement of the result till tomorrow. Sources who spoke to our correspondent claimed that the suspension may not be unconnected with some security concern.
