GROUP HOLDS RALLY ON POLLS TODAY

By NBF News

TO forestall possible outbreak of violence during the ongoing general elections, the Democratic Alliance for Youth (DAY) will today stage a rally to sensitise Nigerians against electoral misconduct.

Speaking yesterday to journalists in Lagos, the National President of DAY, Tunji Adesanya, said the rally is designed to educate Nigerians, most especially the youth, on the need to avoid problems during electoral process.

'The rally is necessary because over the years, youths have been targeted by do or die politicians to cause violence during elections,' he said.

He implored well-meaning Nigerians to come out en-masse and participate in the rally billed to start at 10am from the National Stadium, Surulere to Yaba.

Distinguished personalities expected to grace the rally include the presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP), Mallam Ibrahim Shakarau, Prof. Pat Utomi and Femi Falana.
