THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State has taken delivery of materials required for the weekend polls in the 3,253 polling centres of the 305 wards spread across the 27 local councils of the state.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri, the Imo State Resident Electoral Commission (REC), Prof. Selina Oko, disclosed that the commission's office in Imo State had fashioned out strategies to ensure early dispatch of the materials so that accreditation and voting are carried out in good time.

Oko said the commission's authorities in Abuja would redeploy members of staff to ensure hitch-free elections. She urged voters and politicians to adhere to the rules and regulations, according to the Electoral Act.
