Re: One killed, three injured in Ondo LP, ACN clash
My attention has been drawn to the serious allegations by Mr. Olatunji Oshati against my person as contained on page 5, The Nation Newspaper of Thursday, March 17, 2011 in respect of the above story.
On the said day, I was on official assignment with top officials of the Ministry of Information, busy at the Mandate protection programme at the Palace of Olowo. , Oba Victor Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi and also at the Palace of Olukare , Oba Akadiri Momoh. It becomes therefore difficult to understand why such dangerous and mischievous allegations could be levied against me by Mr. Olatunji Oshati (aka Macima) who is currently eyeing the House of Assembly under the platform of the ACN for Ose Constituency.
This indeed is a wicked lie calculated to bring my name as well as the Labour Party to disrepute by attributing to us what he Oshati himself know is unthinkable in the Labour Party. Perhaps because he lost out in the Labour Party Primary by 53 votes to 1, he may begin to think otherwise. But, Mr. Oshati knows clearly that none of us in the Labour Party toys with thuggery not to talk of violence killing or maiming.
Aside from this, I have never in my short political career harboured any violent tendency. I have never sent anyone nor engaged in any act of violence and will never do, because whatsoever a man sows, he shall reap.
It is surprising that people could be so desperate for power to begin to hunt for the lives of fellow humans.
As I currently speak, there are assassinations threat against my life which I have reported to the appropriate quarters.
It must also be stated that the ACN the Labour Party in Ondo State are twin brothers with common progressive and philosophical ideals. There is therefore no need for a wedge to be thrust between these two political soulmates in the quest for a better governance.
The Labour Party believes absolutely in Peace and total recourse to due process in any incidence of infractions and Injustice rather than resorting to self-help and violence as being preached by others.
The Labour Party success should not make opposition jittery that they have lost ground and therefore decide to unleash terror on the people while hanging it on members of the Labour Party. The approach rather should be to serve the people more and seek their greater good.
It is my sincere appeal to our brothers in ACN as well as those aggrieved Labour Party Members who crossed to ACN on account of one grievances or the other to put into consideration the greater interest of the masses.
The Law enforcement agencies should however be on the alert to deal decisively with any trouble maker not minding his/her position or hierarchy in the society.
