Oluyole Local Govt rehabilitates Local Sport Fields
The Chairman of Oluyole Local Governmnent , Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan has promised to rehabilitate all the football fields in the primary and secondary schools in the local government area in his bid to promote soccer and for full realization of potentials of the children from the area.
Olaosebikan made the promise in Idi Ayunre, headquarters of the local government while playing host to the executive committee of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Oluyole local government chapter, led by its Chairman, Comrade Isaac Ayodele Adio who were on a courtesy call to his office.
Already, the council chairman disclosed that work had started on the rehabilitation of the football field of Moslem Grammar School, Odinjo adding that preliminary works are on two other football fields in the area as he maintained that no school within the council area would be left out of the project.
Olaosebikan told the teachers that in addition to fixing of the bad sports fields, his council would soon commence the distribution of games items particularly soccer to all the primary schools in the area.
He expressed the determination of the council towards creating conducive atmosphere for children in the council area to make them realize their full potentials not minding the background of their parents.
“As parents we know the love our children have for sports especially the game of round leather and as responsible and responsive government we will do everything at our disposal to make them demonstrate and realize their talents”.
Olaosebikan disclosed that part of the programmes being put in place for school children to realize their potentials in sporting activities and other intellectual development is “Catch Them Young” where talented students would be spotted at tender age.
“The local government in line with the 13 Point Agenda of the state government has put machinery in place to ensure that the children realize their full potentials.
We will give all those found talented in any sporting activity the maximum support. We know that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and we have every responsibility to make them great so as to make Oluyole primus interpere in Oyo state and nigeria in general" Olaosebikan declared.
