KIDNAP: IMO JUDICARY DENIES PLANS TO EMBARK ON STRIKE

By NBF News

OWERRI -Imo State Judiciary has said judicial officers in the state were not on strike and had never contemplated embarking on strike on account of the abduction of Hon. Justice Theophilus N. Nzeukwu.

The position of the State Judiciary was communicated to Vanguard in a three-paragraph letter, JUD/PERS.932/VI/24, dated March 4, 2011, and signed by

the Chief Registrar, Mr. E. C. Amaechi.
'I wish to inform you that contrary to your publication, the Judges of Imo State Judiciary are not on strike and have never contemplated embarking on strike on account of the abduction of Hon. Justice T. N. Nzeukwu,' the Chief Registrar stated.

However, some serving judges, who spoke to Vanguard after theĀ  abduction of Justice Nzeukwu, as well as the gruesome murder of his driver and police orderly, confirmed that they were 'afraid of their personal safety'.
