Former captain of the Super Eagles, Kanu Nwakwo, is begging the current chief coach, Samson Siasia, to recall him to the national team.

It was authoritatively gathered that Kanu who stepped out of the Super Eagles after the team's woefull performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the first to be hosted on Africa soil, is said to have been consistently calling on Samson Siasia to include him in the team.

It is said that Kanu had told the coach that he was in a very good shape to play a part in the team having rediscovered his scoring form for his club in England.

Samson Siasia is said to be given the request a thought as a respect to a player who had contributed so much to the national team.

Though 2muchsports.com gathered that the coach had maintained that he would only recall him on the condition that the former captain will assist in the technical bence and be intemitently introduced into a match, almost the same role Steven Keshi played at the 1994 Super Eagles team that won gold at the Tunisian World Cup.
