ACN Flags Off Presidential Campaign In North-West

DUTSE, Feb 28, (THEWILL) - A large turnout of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) supporters are expected to witness the flag off of the party’s Presidential campaign of its candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for the North-West zone in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital today.


The ACN National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, Governor Babatunde Fashola and other Governors of the party alongside former Lagos State governor Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, party national and state officials of the seven North-West states are also expected to grace the occasion.


The Jigawa State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Fulatan told THEWILL that arrangements have been completed for the zonal campaign, expressing the hope that the people of the zone will vote for the party because of its policies and strategies.

According to him, “Light has come to us and our youths in Jigawa State, it’s going to be an election of freedom. This is the election that will determine our future. This is the time you will determine how your future will look like. It is a liberation struggle for our men, women and youths; this is the time to vote out government of liars. This is the time to end unfulfilled promises. They can’t rig this election. We will defend our votes,” Alhaji Fulata said.

He stressed that the April general election would not be an ordinary one but that of a liberation struggle.

At strategic locations from Kano to Dutse, posters of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the Governorship candidates of the zones were lavishly pasted on trees, buildings, vehicles and on bill boards, to market the party’s candidates and manifestoes.

In Jigawa State, former Governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Saminu Turaki and his teeming supporters also mobilized thousands of their supporters to grace today’s rally.

In Kano state, the Deputy Governor of the state, and also a Governorship candidate of the (ACN), Alhaji Abdullahi Tijjani Mohammed Gwarzo mobilized his teeming supporters from the 44 local government areas of the state to attend the rally in Jigawa.

It is expected that all the governorship candidates, Senatorial, House of Representatives candidates from the seven North-West states will today receive their flags from the National Chairman of the Party, Chief Bisi Akande.
