A faction of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has denied the membership of one acclaimed leader of the Party, Dr. Femi Dom Ferguson.

Dr. Ferguson in a recent media interview was referred to as leader of the APGA in Lagos State.

The party in a release made available to Daily Sun, on Monday, criticised the publication, saying it was the handiwork of an impostor.'

According to the statement signed by the Lagos State chairman of the party, Prince Adeshina Olayokun, the name Dr. Ferguson has never been heard or seen in the membership register, except during the 2008 Local Government elections in the state when the bearer claimed to be the then state chairman of the party.

The development, Olayokun, said was investigated by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), under the leadership of Justice Abdul Fatai Agolabi Adeyinka (Rtd), which found him to be fake.

'We would have ignored this man, but for the sake of posterity. We have decided to put the record straight and alert the general public about this man. In the first instance, there is no leader with the name Dr. Femi Dom Ferguson in APGA in Lagos.

'During the 2008 Local Government Election in the state, one name raised its head claiming that he was the APGA state chairman in Lagos then.

'Meanwhile, LASIEC headed by Justice Abdul Fatai Agolabi Adeyinka (Rtd) investigated this Ferguson and found him to be a fake chairman and he was warned . Also,Also, in Lagos State, son of the April 2007 Lagos State PDP governorship candidate and currently Nigeria's High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro, Mr. Babajide Obanikoro has also emerged as one of the 40 candidates to vie for seats in the state Assemblyx Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu described him as an impostor and he immediately disappeared from the political scene', he affirmed.'

Ferguson in the publication claimed that APGA had no alliance with any party in the state. But Olayokun in the release, claimed that there is an alliance, adding that 'Coalition of Lagos State Opposition Political Parties (COLASOPP) which is contesting on the blissful platform of APGA is too large for one man to be used.'

He therefore urged the Lagos state commissioner of Police to investigate the case to ascertain the authenticity of APGA leadership in Lagos.
