PRINCEWILL PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON THE AMANYANBO OF THE KALABARI KINGDOM; URGES THE KALABARI PEOPLE TO REGISTER AND VOTE FOR AMAECHI, DESCRIBES THE ONGOING REGISTRATION AS A REVOLUTION AS HE EMPOWERS THE YOUTHS IN RIVERS STATE WITH SCHOLARSHIPS AND BUS D

By Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze,

Tonye Princewill the Prince of Niger Delta Politics and the digital leader of Princewill Political Associates (PPA) a political pressure group comprising new generation politicians covering the length and breadth of Niger Delta region propagating and preaching the gospel of a new type of politics devoid of acrimony, tribalism, sectionalism and all the evils associated with unprincipled and undemocratic values on the 3rd February, 2011 paid a courtesy call on HM King Prof T.J.T Princewill the Amanyanabo of the Kalabari Kingdom comprising of three local Government Councils in Rivers State (Asari-Toru, Akuku Toru and Degema) and Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers before registering in the ongoing voter's registration exercise at the Polling Unit stationed in the Palace of the Kalabari Kingdom. Those that accompanied him included Chief Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya the Chairman of PPA and Hon. Commissioner of Special Duties in the Rivers State Government, Bar Osima Ginah the Secretary and Commissioner for Urban Development, Rev Dr. Ugo Amaechi the Coordinator of the pastor's wing of PPA, Dr. Mrs. Edith Wele the Leader of the Women Group, Chief Eze C Eze the Media Consultant among other leaders of the Group.

Prince Tonye Princewill who is also the Prince of the Kalabari Kingdom being the only son and the scion of His Majesty King T.J.T Princewill, the Amanyanabo of the Kalabari Kingdom in his speech thanked the King whom he described as a father to him in more ways than one thanked the King for receiving him and his entourage at a very short notice without much protocol. He described the King as the first Professor to be anointed a King in Rivers State and also the first Kalabari King to head the Rivers State Traditional Council of Chiefs and further reiterated that whatever he is today could not have been possible without the King, 'I owe all that I am today to this great and unassuming man who saw the wisdom that I should have the best of education as my foundation. “His Majesty, I am here today not necessarily as your son but as a politician with an unflinching desire to make a difference in the politics of our State and nation at large to pay you a courtesy call and plead with you and your Kingdom to mobilise to register and vote for Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi not because he is my brother and friend but because his revolutionary crusade in our State must continue. If he must be re-elected then all the good sons and daughters of Rivers State must not only support him in words but in deeds by registering to have the power to re-elect him. If the revolutionary fire he has ignited in our State will be sustained this is critical or else those that made our State insecure in the past will capitalise on it to seize power and take us back to the ugly path from where we have previously tread and vowed to never walk again. That is the principal reason why I cut short my stay travels to ensure that I participate in this new revolution that will make the difference in our country as one vote can ensure that the right people will be elected come April 2011. Though President Jonathan is doing his best in a very difficult situation, the fact remains that this voter's registration exercise is a key achievement of his administration in which Nigerians can utilise their votes to make a difference in the leadership of our country. To me the problem of this country has always been poor leadership. Once we get it right, Nigeria will take its rightful place among the comity of nations”.

The Prince who used the opportunity of the visit to announce the increase in the number of beneficiaries to the current Amanyanabo Of Kalabari scholarship scheme that will grant to over 150 students from the State picked from all the 23 LGAs of the state also donated a bus to the youths of the Palace to be used by them to generate funds to cater for themselves and avoid idleness. According to him, he intends to do the same donation of buses to cover and cater for most of our youths in all the Local Government Areas of the State. “The people of Rivers State have done much for me and I think it is time to start paying back.” the Prince enthused

King Prof T.J.T. Princewill who was so happy to receive the Prince and his entourage displayed his own voter's card to his visitors and stated that the importance of the voter's registration exercise cannot be over-emphasized. He thanked the Prince for affording time to come home to register and assured him that he will not spend more than five minutes to get registered as hiccups earlier associated with the exercise had been arrested and resolved. He thanked the Prince for sustaining the Amanyanabo of Kalabari Scholarship Scheme which is a legacy he intends to leave for the incoming generation since without education, our society is doomed. The King concluded by stating that though he did not train his son to be a politician, he taught him to care and since he has decided to be one, I will give him my blessing and support. I am proud of the much he has achieved since he joined politics. Today, I can proudly state that I made Tonye not for me, but for others.

Rev. Dr. Ugo Amaechi, the Head of the Pastor's wing of PPA and Dr Mrs Edith Wele the Women Leader all described King Princewill as not only a gift to the people of Rivers State but the Ambassador of Peace in the Kalabari Kingdom which has resulted in the prevalent peace in his Kingdom. They described the King as an embodiment of humility and thanked God for using him as a passage to bring this great son of ours in the person of the Prince to this world. Prince Tonye Princewill was later accompanied personally by the King and the mammoth crowd that thronged to the palace on hearing that the Prince was in town to register and obtain his voter's card within five minutes as rightly predicted by the King, the exercise was concluded. He then used the opportunity to inspect
