2nd SES Media Awards holds April 10th in Lagos

The 2 nd edition of the Society, Entertainment and Style Media Awards (SES Awards) comes up on Sunday 10 th April 2011 at the 10 degrees event Centre, billingsway, Oregun  Ikeja.

In a press briefing during the week, the organizers of the event ,Ikenga entertainment through its chief executive officer ,Chris Kehinde Nwandu, said the award was initiated last year to celebrate members of the pen profession  in the print and electronic media who daily bring to the fore the tremendous  and superlative happenings in the showbiz industry in Nigeria, some of who are hardly recognized and appreciated after making the Nigerian movie industry the second largest industry in the world.

According to him, the award Nite is packaged to recognize media practitioners who cover such beats like movies, music, events, comedy, style, society as well as radio, television and Newspapers, magazines that promotes entertainment (music, movie, comedy, fashion and style etc)

Behind all the glamour's and razzmatazz of this industry are young men and women who have remained mostly unsung. These are the real heroes who struggle night and day to bring about the beauty of the Nigeria showbiz industry to the front burner.

The award will take into cognizance the contribution of these various individuals and organizations between January – December 2010.

The organizing committee is already working round the clock to shortlist the nominees and the various award categories.

 
From all indication and if the feelers from the organizing committee is anything to go by, its obvious that Ses Media Awards will become the main bench mark to assess and evaluate the members of the pen profession in showbiz. At the maiden edition of the event held last year, some notable young and veterans in the profession were duly honored.
