EKITI GOODLUCK CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR BURIES MOTHER IN-LAW
Mother-in-law of Rt. Hon. Femi Akinyemi, the Ekiti State Coordinator of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation, Mrs Elizabeth Oluwafunke Bolaji was on Saturday, buried at Ayetoro Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The remains of Mrs Elizabeth Bolaji, who died last year November at 82 was laid to rest after a church service at St Stephen's Anglican Church, Ayetoro Ekiti.
Speaking at the burial ceremony, Akinyemi, who recently lost his Ido-Ekiti multi-million naira mansion to inferno said; “What I can only say today is to give glory to the Almighty God because if not for Him, we wouldn't have been here today.
“You can imagine what would have happened if my family had not relocated to Usi-Ekiti before the fire incident that razed down my house at Ido-Ekiti. This burial ceremony wouldn't have taken place but I thank God for His grace.”
On his relationship with the deceased, Akinyemi, a former Speaker of the old Ondo State House of Assembly said; “Mama was like a mother to me. She never related with me like an in-law and I adored her so much.
I will miss her greatly.”
Akinyemi's wife, Chief Yemisi Akinyemi said her mother's wise counsel would be missed greatly, describing her as a loving, doting and dependable mother.
Extolling Mrs. Bolaji virtues, the officiating minister and Bishop of Ekiti Oke Diocese, Rt. Rev. Isaac Olatunde Olubowale described her as a religious person and lover of peace.
“Mama was an exemplary Christian, who gave all to the service of God and humanity. Though it is always painful to lose a beloved one, but death is a necessary end that cannot be escaped,” the cleric said.
The burial was graced by top stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, his deputy, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal and wife, Princess Yemisi Lawal, former minister of Aviation, Prof. Babalola Borishade, Ekiti State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bola Olu-Ojo, Vice Chairman, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, former minister of State for Energy, Chief Tunde Odusina, former Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prince Dayo Adeyeye, former Attorneys-General and Commissioners for Justice, Mr. Obafemi Adewale and Mr. Gboyega Oyewole; and former Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Segun Ilori, among others.
