BOMADI PDP: PROTESTERS STORM LG OFFICE OVER HIJACKED ASSEMBLY PRIMARIES RESULT

By NBF News

Placard carrying protesters at the weekend stormed the Bomadi Local Government Area office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State to demand the position of the party over the hijacked House of Assembly primary result.

The frustration of the PDP supporters was further aggravated by the attitude of the party's officials in the state and at the national level considering the time frame provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the submission of names of candidates.

The placards, with various inscriptions, read; 'we demand the true position of the party,' 'PDP stands for fairness,' 'Do not support illegality.' Unfortunately for the protesters, the party Chairman of the Bomadi council area, Mr. Labo Pius was unavoidably absent but a party source from his office advised and directed the protesters to proceed to Asaba where they could have a better audience.

One of the House of Assembly aspirants, Mr. Victor Azebiri who was present at the scene later addressed the protesters and said he had presented a petition letter to the state chapter of the party, national level, the party electoral committee, INEC and to the state security service (SSS) urging the aggrieved party supporters to go about their normal duties as the party would address the issue.

He noted that politicians should take cue from the way the PDP national convention was organized, stressing that there was no sacred cow before the law.
