SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 12, (THEWILL) – A State High Court today ordered the removal of Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a day before the party’s all-important Presidential Congress.

The court also restrained Nwodo from parading himself as a member of the party until it determines a suit filed before it.

THEWILL gathered that Justice RN Onuorah of the Enugu State court granted an interlocutory injunction ordering the removal of Nwodo in a suit challenging the waiver granted him before he was readmitted into the party and subsequently installed as national party chair.

The suit was filed late last year by aggrieved party members in the State PDP.

Nwodo and the Governor of Enugu State, his home state, Mr. Sullivan Chime have been at loggerheads over the control of the party executive in the state.

When THEWILL sought comments from Nwodo’s spokesman, Mr. Ike Ebonyi, he declined to comment until they are served the court judgement.
