JOS VICTIMS: MINISTER PROMISES FREE TREATMENT, REHABILITATION

Minister of Health Professor Christian Onyebuchi Chukwu has stated that his ministry and the Plateau State Ministry of Health were working together  to ensure that all logistics for the treatment of the Jos bomb blasts victims as well as a rehabilitation programme for them are arranged.

Professor Chukwu who was on a visit to Jos yesterday alongside the state Commissioner for Health Alhaji Suleiman Bello and other top officials of the ministry to condole the state government and the victims of the blasts stated that they were going to make an estimate of what would take care of victims up to rehabilitation stage.

'I have been discussing with the Commissioner for Health. I have also given instruction for them to see whether we can have an estimate, not estimate of where we will stop for now, but an estimate that can take us to the rehabilitating stage of this treatment and then we can see between the federal and state government how much of it we can afford', he said.

The minister who commended the management of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for their contribution in taking care of the victims further stated that they had been working with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) adding that they would bring in more materials to support what the state government had done.
