CPC PLEDGES 'CREDIBLE LEADERSHIP'

THE Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) would work towards rescuing Nigeria from under-development and corruption that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had allegedly pushed the nation into in the past 11 years, Benue State Secretary of the CPC, Imodzanaria Tsockari-Unom, has said.

Tsockari-Unom spoke yesterday at a media conference in Makurdi where the state executive committee of the party was presented.

He regretted that successive administrations in the country had failed to provide credible leadership for the people.

Tsockari-Unom said the Benue people, like others in the North and some parts of the South, have resolved to support the candidacy of former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, because he has the capacity to address corruption and put the nation on the path of development.

According to him, Buhari has dedicated his life as a progressive politician to emancipating the people, hence the decision to work towards his election in 2011.

'For us in Benue State, we are joining the rest of Nigeria to put an end to bad leadership and corruption by electing Buhari at the next elections', he said.

The Benue CPC secretary said all progressive politicians, youths and academics were being mobilised to check any attempts at rigging the 2011 elections.

His words: 'We are tired of election rigging by failed leaders in this nation and our interest is to ensure that they do not have their way next year.'
