Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Oni has urged the people of the State not to despair but continue keep hope alive in the New Year.

He said; “In spite of the judicial robbery that gave power to those now ruling the State like a fiefdom, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.”

Oni, in his New Year message to the people of the State signed by his Chief Media Aide, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, reiterated his commitment to serving the people and making life more meaningful for the downtrodden, promising that he would continue to offer more selfless services to the State in 2011 and beyond.

His words; “I wish to congratulate the entire people of Ekiti State for this brand new year that God has made it possible for us to see.

“I also wish to urge our people, especially supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain calm, focussed and keep hope alive in the New Year, because in spite of the judicial manipulations, the will of God must surely prevail on our dear State, Ekiti.

“We should therefore remain hopeful because even in the face of tyranny and irresponsible governance where supposed chief security office of a state was the arrowhead of ballot snatching, campaign of calumny against notable Ekiti sons and daughters perceived to be sympathetic to the PDP, there is assurance that like all the afflicted of the Israelites, this governance by deceit will soon pass away.”

While expressing his gratitude to God for His mercies in 2010, Chief Oni noted that; “in spite of all things, God must be praised and we must continue to give glorify His name.”
