WHAT PEOPLE WOULD BE BUYING IN 2011

The expectations of the righteous shall not be cut off, so says the Holy Bible. Several people would either be buying highly defined technological communications tools for themselves or their loved ones this season.

The communication tools that would be mostly purchased include the Netbook, new models of the Blackberry, Nokia C3, Galaxy tablet and Ipad. It is not totally true that many people would delay the purchase of these Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools for consumables owing to what the season demands.

According to Godwin Enamoh, the Pubic Relations Officer (PRO) of the umbrella body of computer dealers, Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association (CAPDAN), at the Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos the trend in recent years had always been that the rush by people to acquire what is needed would gradually become a trickle within 72 hours before Christmas but now, there seemed to be a little change.

'Many people from neighbouring countries, foreigners and even Nigerians from all walks of life had started buying their IT products. This is a way of knowing that the easiest way of communication is through technology', he said.

Another stakeholder, Emeka Otawuru, also added that manufacturers of Tecno phones would not allowed it to be relegated to the background but it would have many buyers this season.

He noted that some Nigerians would also be purchasing more of photo paper because it would be a season to capture activities, most churches may change their musical instruments, in preparations for the New Year and biometrics scanner for the security-conscious organizations.
