Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Oni has urged indigenes of the State to use the Christmas period to rededicate themselves afresh to the service of the Almighty God, adding that; “Even with the judicial robbery that brought about the change of government in the State, we must still continue to be grateful to God for giving us hope of a better future through the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to the Chief Media Aide to the former Governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, Chief Oni in his goodwill message to the people of the state on the occasion of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ said Ekiti State has a special reason to be grateful to God.

His words: “I want to use the occasion of this Christmas to urge all Ekiti sons and daughters both home and abroad to rededicate themselves afresh to the service of the Almighty.

“In spite of everything that has happened since Ekiti State was created 14 years ago, we all have a special reason to be grateful to God who has shown uncommon love to us as a people in every step of the way.

“Let us continue to show love to people around us bearing in mind that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of others first.

“As the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ also symbolises the pouring into a sick world of the healing medicine of love which has transformed all manner of hearts, it has become imperative to us that in spite of what anyone must have done to us, we must not stop being kind and dedicated to God.”
