Atiku's Campaign Jigawa Coordinator Resigns, Joins Jonathan Campaign
KANO, Dec 22, (THEWILL) - Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign organization was dealt a huge blow today when his Campaign Coordinator in Jigawa State, Alhaji Saleh Ahmed Danzomo resigned from the campaign organization to join the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign organization.
Alhaji Danzomo’s resignation came barely 24 hours after Jigawa State, Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido publicly declared support for the candidature of President Jonathan Goodluck.
Addressing reporters in Dutse Wednesday, Danzomo explained that as a member of the Lamido administration, he is unable to work for another candidate against the interest of the state Governor.
“I can not be a hypocrite; my boss paid his allegiance to Jonathan. Since Lamido has expressed his support to Jonathan, it means I have no option than to dump Atiku Campaign Organization and join the same path with my boss,” he said.
Danzomo, who is also the Special Assistant to the Jigawa State Governor on endowment and International Agencies, said his decision to quit the service of Atiku, was in line with the resolve of his Governor to support Jonathan.
“I resigned voluntarily, but other members of the campaign team are on their own, if they like they can continue and if they so wish they can resign too.”
