By NBF News

Victor Ikpeba has doffed his hat for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon's striker, Samuel Eto'o Fils, for winning his fourth Glo-CAF African Footballer of the Year award in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.

Ikpeba, former winner of the award, said Eto'o deserved to win the award because he's the most consistent African striker now in Europe.

He also described Eto'o as the most decorated African star and a player who would continue to win the award as long as he's scoring.

“Eto'o is an all-round best player. He has done it all If people look critically at his contributions to Cameroon and his club, they will realise that he did his best and it is not only about him, but it's team's work that keeps him going,”.

Eto'o has won many accolades this year at club level, so he deserved to win because he has medals to show for his exploits this year,”he said.

Eto'o's fourth African crown takes him past other three-time winners, Abedi Pele Ayew and George Weah. Eto'o was an integral part of Inter's success last term, scoring 16 goals during a highly successful campaign under then-coach Jose Mourinho. Eto'o's award was decided by votes from national coaches of the continent's 53 countries affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
