I'LL BE CONTENT ENDING WITH SPURS, REDKNAPP INSISTS

TOTTENHAM Hotspur's manager Harry Redknapp said he would be content if his current job turned out to be his last in football.

The 63-year old has managed five clubs in the course of his managerial career, and his success with Spurs has seen him being touted as a successor to England's current boss, Fabio Capello.

The Italian has already announced that he would not remain in his position after the Euro 2012 campaign, and FA General Secretary, Alex Horne, has confirmed that the West Ham United former boss would be one of the contenders for the job of managing the national team.

However, when quizzed as to whether he would be content if Spurs was his last job, according to The Mail on Sunday, Redknapp said: “Of course I would. For sure, only I don't think that far ahead. In this game you just never know.

'Yeah, it's gone great but I was enjoying my life before and out of the blue suddenly you get a phone call (from Tottenham). It never entered my mind that I would leave Portsmouth, I was enjoying it there and suddenly you get an offer to come here.

“Whoever thought Sam (Allardyce) would get the sack. It can turn so quickly, half a dozen games and suddenly you don't know what you're doing. You go from being the cleverest person in the world to being the biggest idiot in the world. That's how this game works, unfortunately.”

Addressing the possibility of becoming England's next manager, Redknapp added: “It's flavour of the month this game. Roy Hodgson was favourite at the start of the year. Alan Curbishley nearly had it last time, now he can't get a job in the Premier League. Who knows what happens in 18 months time?”
