President John Evans Atta Mills has requested that between Friday the 17th of December 2010 and Sunday the 19th of December 2010 all Christians and Muslims should in their Churches and Mosques carry out special prayer and intercession for our brothers and sisters in Cote d'Ivoire.

President Mills has no doubt that diplomacy and global efforts have a key role to play in the resolution of the Ivorian crisis, however, he is also of a strong conviction that there is a special role the Almighty can play when we all call on him and ask for His divine intervention.

President Mills indicated that the continuous crisis is of great concern to him and considering the obvious implications for Ghana we must all as religious people devote special prayers to back the human efforts of our leaders in finding a solution to the political stalemate.
