GROUP HAILS ONI OVER NEW BSES EQUIPMENT, ADO-IWOROKO-IFAKI ROAD DUALISATION

By Tunji Oluwasanmi

Former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Oni has been commended for the turn-around of the State owned radio and television stations, and the present state and quality of work being done on the dualisation of Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki Road.

Ekiti Justice Group (EJG), in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, today and signed by its National Coordinator, Dr. Tunji Oluwasanmi and Director of Communications and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Babawibe said it was particularly happy with the arrival last week of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) state-of-the-art equipment ordered for by the Oni-led administration.

It noted that before now, the stations used to have only one analogue transmitter that was purchased 14 years ago and one studio, but four new studios have now been constructed to serve the television and radio stations with N1.5 billion committed to the procurement of equipment and renovation of the broadcast stations.

.“We wish to express our gratitude to the former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Oni for his efforts at making the state owned radio and television stations one of the best in the country.

“Today, we are particularly happy with the news of the arrival of all the equipment ordered by the Oni-led administration and we wish to urge the contractor handling the job to expedite actions at completing the installation of the equipment so that the stations can be back on air without further delay.

“We are sure that by the time the two digital transmitters, one Outside Broadcasting Van, four Tranposer (Booster Stations), two generating sets, brand new studio equipment and four booster stations to be installed at Efon/Okemesi axis, Ikere, Omuo and Otun, there will be nothing that CNN does with its television that the BSES won't be able to do.

“It is therefore our plea to the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to make sure that only professionals are made to work in the broadcast stations so as to allow for optimum utilisation of the new equipment,”

the group said.
While also commending the contractor handling the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki Road dualisation, EJG said; “The pace at which the contractor is working and the quality of the job being done is highly commendable.

“With the level of work already done at the Ifaki, Iworoko and Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti axis of the road, we are not in doubt that the road will be one of the best in Nigeria and we salute Chief Segun Oni for this laudable initiative.

“We however urge the contractor to maintain the quality set by the Oni-led administration and appeal to the Fayemi-led government not to starve the contractor with fund so that the project can be delivered in earnest.”
