The maiden Babatunde Fashola South-West Pre-season Football Competition is expected to kick off on Thursday in Lagos. According to the organisers of the South-West Football Zone on Monday, N10m has been budgeted for the four-club tournament.

The clubs are Julius Berger of Lagos, Osun United of Osogbo, Gateway of Abeokuta, and Fountain of Ekiti.

The leader of the South-West Football Association Chairmen's forum and Osun FA Chairman, Taiwo Balogun, said the competition will offer the clubs an opportunity to prepare for the new National Professional League season.

He said, 'Apart from being an avenue to prepare the clubs for the new season, it will also foster unity among the clubs and the state they represent.'
