CONSENSUS CANDIDATE: IBB, ATIKU, OTHERS KNOW FATE FRIDAY
Barring any hitch, the body of nine wise men set up by the Northern Political Leaders Forum [NPLF] to pick a single candidate of Northern extraction to contest the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential ticket would make a final pronouncement on its recommendation on Friday.
A Daily Sun source disclosed that the committee took the decision to make its findings known this week to avoid a situation, where extraneous factors would come into play.
'They have finished with their consultations and they are determined to make a pronouncement, before the Sallah break (the Moslem Eid-Kabir festival). Their findings might even be on Thursday; but Friday is certain,' the source revealed.
The source could, however, not reveal the anointed candidate among the aspirants.
But further investigations revealed that the choice of the nine wise men led by the Chairman of the NPLF, Malam Adamu Ciroma is between former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida.
Other PDP aspirants of Northern extraction who submitted themselves to the NPLF screening are former National Security Adviser, General Aliyu Gusau and the Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki.
