Bomb Explosion Rocks Government House, Asaba
An explosion, suspected to be bomb blast has rocked an apartment, close the VIP lodge section of the Delta State Government House, Asaba. Our checks reveal that the explosion blew open the roof and walls of the apartment, which usually houses VIP`s / guest of the governor. However, no loss of life has been reported.
The Bomb Disposal Unit are at the scene, while security agencies attached to Government House, Asaba has fenced off those coming in and going out of the Government House, including newsmen.A photo journalist who made attempt take pictures of the bomb scene, had his camera confisticated by security personels.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta state police command, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed the explosion, saying investigation is on, adding that the bomb disposal unit are still working on the scene.
Reacting to the bomb explosion, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Delta state, Mr. Sunny Ogefere , said, "At about 3pm this afternoon there was an explosion at the Asaba Guest House, a commercial outfit of the Delta State Government located near the Government House'. "Two of the rooms upstairs were damaged from the impact of the explosion. There were no injuries and no casualties recorded. "Security agencies have already moved to the scene of the incident and they have cordoned off the premises and commenced investigations to ascertain the nature of the explosion.
