ABUJA, Oct 27, (THEWILL) - The Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organization has commended officials of the nation’s security services, the Police, State Security Services (SSS), Military Intelligence and Naval Intelligence, for their interception of an illegal arms shipment of rocket launchers, grenades and explosives, at the Apapa Wharf in Lagos.

In a statement issued today in Abuja, the Organization’s Director of Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Sully Abu, expressed satisfaction at the vigilance of the agencies which led to the discovery of this dangerous cargo.

“By this interception, the Security Services have saved Nigerians from mortal danger. It is obvious that the evil minds behind the importation of these arms have a sinister agenda. They must be exposed and brought to book,” Abu said.

The organization called on all security agencies and Nigerians at large to be very vigilant at this time. It urged Nigerians to expose the few desperate ones who are hell-bent on disrupting the peace and orderliness in the country.

It also implored all to “eschew violence as we move towards a critical period in our nation’s history. The coming elections must be seen as another phase in our nation’s development and not a desperate struggle for power.”
