Bafarawa's Political Associate kidnapped in Sokoto

Reports from Sokoto confirmed that some unidentified people have kidnapped Junaidu Mu'azu, a former computer analyst to the Former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto state.

The alleged kidnap of Mu'azu is the first of its kind in Sokoto State.

Alhaji Junaidu Mu'azu, aged 30, is a graduate of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. He is the Executive Director of J Integrated Concept Ltd, Consultants of Computer Hardwares Services, based in Lagos. 

He reportedly left his house Sunday morning for a meeting with some of his political associates, over finishing touches toward his scheduled declaration to contest the House of Representatives seat to represent Sokoto North/South local governments, under the 'Democratic Peoples Party, (DPP) a political party flouted by his former boss Governor Bafarawa.

Junaid JJ as he is fondly called by his peers, is of a Sokoto based businessman; Alhaji Mu'azu Jodi, who is also a contractor.

Sources close to his family alleged that sometime before now, Mu'azu has been facing a very dirty running battles with some powerful politicians from PDP state controlled government.

He was arrested and detained in prison for weeks by the Police over accusations that he is sponsoring his supporters to paste some of his posters in public places.

One of his brothers, Malam Kabiru Jodi confirmed that Junaidu was actually invited by the AIG zone 7 Sokoto, for an undisclosed issue with one Mu'azu Zabira, a staunch supporter of Governor Wamakko, last Friday.

Sources in the AIG's office said, during the interview and interrogation, he mentioned that he did not know who Mu'azu and have never had any business with him over their political differences. Mu'azu was said to have worked out of the AIG's office infuriated.

Hajiya Aishatu Maman Jummai who corroborated the sources claims said the public declaration of Mu'azu may have infuriated PDP members in the State.

Sources close to Police Headquarters in Sokoto, confirmed that almost two times during last weeks, Commissioner of Police frustrated Mu”azu's intention to declare in public after formal notifications, due to the interest of State PDP controlled government.

All efforts by his family, political associates and friends in Sokoto to get information about his whereabouts from CID office in the Police headquarters, proved abortive as they were turned back by the officers.

 
There are no details about his whereabouts or information leading to whereabout, as families continued to be searching Police stations, Hospitals and other places within the state.

His wife who has been sober mood, refused to grant interview when contacted, but sources close to family confirmed that his family have been praying for his safety.

When contacted on phone both the Commissioner of Police and PDP Publicity Secretary in Sokoto state refused to take calls.
