15 Jos Crisis Refugees Die Of Malaria

JOS, Oct 09, (THEWILL) - 15 displaced persons from the last Jos crisis have died between January and October this year in one of the refugee camps in Jos North local Government Area.

Chairman of the elders’ council at the camp Sa'idu Bala who spoke with newsmen in Jos on Thursday said most of deceased died from malaria, typhoid and Pneumonia related diseases.

He said the latest victim was a female who died alongside her baby during childbirth.

The chairman said many refugees have continued to reside at the camps because they were not allowed to return to their previous places of abode. He called on the authorities to intervene so they return and rebuild their destroyed homes.
