By NBF News

Chairman of the Igbo Political Forum, Chief Simon N. Okeke, has insisted that his group still stood by its agreement with the Northern political leaders to ensure that the North serves out its tenure in 2015 to hand over to the Igbos thereafter.

He made the comment while briefing journalists at his Amichi country home in Nnewi South Local Government Area, Anambra State. Chief Okeke, the former chairman of Police Service Commission, said the essence of the event was to chart a new political course for Ndigbo due to the marginalization of the zone and blamed some prominent Igbo leaders for their role in fuelling discordant tune on issues affecting the interest of Ndigbo.

'We are not scared at all on what transpired in Owerri, the summit reinforces the agreement,' he further insisted.

He blamed the powers that be for the aborted summit, who according to him, believed that the group were acting a script written by one of the presidential aspirants from the North, saying that the group which is yet to endorse any presidential aspirant would be open to discussion on issues affecting the socio-economic development of the South East geo-political zone,' he said.
