Oyo/Osun Area Command Of Nigeria Customs Service Cracks Down On Illicit Goods, Hands Over Seized Items To Sister Agencies

Comptroller Joseph Adelaja has achieved significant milestones during his tenure as the Controller of Customs Oyo/Osun Command. Some of his notable accomplishments include bolted Revenue Generation, Anti-Smuggling Efforts, Improved Trade Facilitation and interagency Collaboration.

Again, Under his leadership, the Area Command successfully handed over seized Cannabis Sativa and counterfeit pharmaceuticals to the NDLEA and NAFDAC on July 3, 2025, demonstrating effective collaboration between agencies.

A statement by ASC II Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, PRO of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, revealed that the Command's operatives seized contraband worth ₦35,488,500.00 and transferred it to relevant agencies for further action.

The handover aligns with the vision of Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, emphasizing synergy and collaboration with sister agencies to combat smuggling and transnational crime.
