Former Vice President Dumps PDP, Joins APC
The former Vice President, Namadi Sambo, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
It's understood that Sambo served as Vice President of Nigeria from 19 May 2010 to 29 May 2015 under the ex-president Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Prior to his position as vice president, Sambo had served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010.
Even though he has not issued an official statement to that effect, an APC chieftain, Imram Muhammad, in a post on his X page, confirmed that the former Vice President, defected to the APC on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Sambo became the latest high-profile politician to dump the PDP for the APC in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.
