EVELYN OKOSUNS EMERGES WINNER, TAKES AWAY NEW HYUNDAI CAR

A towering avante-grade hair creation with the braided inscription of Nigeria at 50 stole and captured the sight and hearts of judges and guests alike in the grand finale of the Kanekalon Naija at 50 braid competition.

The winning hair, which appropriately represented the three indigenous ethnic groups, could be properly touted as a braided coat of arms.

The sheer genius and creativity of Evelyn Okosuns of Salon 'd' Eve Hair salon, earned her fame and a brand new Hyundai car as she emerged the winner of the kanekalon Naija at 50 braid competition. Consolation prizes included, Plasma Tv's, generators, Deep freezers, gas cookers and DVD players, among others.

The star-studded event, which was held at the grand ballroom of The Eko hotel and suites, was the climax of the regional competitions that had been held in various parts of the country. Seven contestants who were finalists picked from the regional competitions held across the country were given one hour to work their magic while the judges looked out for poise, presentation and creativity.

The judges confessed that the decision was not an easy one because all the braiders showcased masterpieces.

Judges include Mrs. Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, CEO, Regalia Fashion, Isaac Moses, presenter/producer, Goge Africa, Gety Banye, Senior NASHCO Matron and Yinka Adedeji.
