Govs lobby for President Jonathan, says Gov Uduaghan

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State yesterday(Tuesday) evening hinted that his colleagues from the South were in negotiations with their counterparts in the North with a view to garner support for President Goodluck Jonathan.

Governor Uduaghan who was at the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party to formally submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the 2011 governorship race , said politics was all about negotiations hence the decision to reach out to their colleagues in the North to ensure that the President succeded

The Governor was received on arrival by officials of the party and promptly submitted the forms to the National Organising Secretary of PDP,Prince Uche Secondus at exactly 4.32pm

Prince Secondus congratulated the Governor and wished him well , and later presented him , a copy of the electoral guidelines.

Fielding questions from journalists later, Governor Uduaghan reiterated his support for President Goodluck Jonathan hinting that negotiations have commenced with some influencial members of the PDP in the North to garner support for Mr President.

On the plethora of aspirants for the governorship race in Delta State , he said that "after the closing date for the submission of forms , we will know who are actually in the race.

Governor Uduaghan flayed persons calling for the dissolution of the state executive of the PDP, stressing that suchpersons were not members of the party, as the party has since progressed beyond that stage
