Housing Development: We Are Ready to Partner Genuine Investors - Gov Nwifuru.
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has reinstated his commitment to partner all genuine group willing to invest in real estate towards addressing housing deficit in the state.
The Governor stated this Tuesday while addressing the management of Britking Homes and Property limited which paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abakaliki.
Governor Nwifuru who expressed pride in the ingenuity of the estate development company stressed that housing development was part of the major focus of President Tinubu's administration.
He noted that the Federal Ministry of Housing in collaboration with other partners were already developing very big estate in Umuoghara, Ezza North area of the State.
Nwifuru explained: "As a state, we are doing so many things in this area of estate development and your coming is a welcome development.
"As it is now, we have about 3 different clusters of estates in different locations.
"We have taken one of the estates to about 95% completion.
"We have one of about 140 units here in Abakaliki where we are building duplexes for the less privileged and the civil servants.
"We are going to give some of those units as gifts to civil servants who have done well and served meritoriously in their professional and specialization areas.
Governor Nwifuru assured the group that the government would create the enabling environment as well as facilitate title documents for lands they may acquired for their estates in the state.
"We don't have free lands to give but of you acquire the land, we can assist in the area of access roads to your estates but the internal roads within are part of your estate development which you should be able to handle"
The Governor further admonished the group to be careful to develop quality estates at lower costs that could be affordable to the residents of the state.
Leader of the group and Chairman of Britking Homes and Property limited, Bright Nwankwo, while stating their mission, said they were in the Governor's office to seek state government's partnership with the company to establish model estates in the state.
He explained that the company with headquarters in Abuja has given job to over 500 youths, many of whom are Ebonyians.
He further expressed optimism that their coming into the state would help in addressing housing challenges as well as create more jobs for the youths of the state.
