AHRC: The Arab Israeli Conflict Is Not A Real Estate Dispute And Gaza Is Not for Sale:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) reaffirms strongly that the occupied Gaza Strip is Palestinian land, owned by its Indigenous people the Palestinians. President Trump’s remarks about owning Gaza and displacing the already displaced Palestinians is out of touch with reality. Trump’s misguided remarks are an open invitation for Netanyahu and his far-right extremist cabinet members to pursue further their war crimes and ethnic cleansing. Ethnic cleansing is a crime against humanity.
President Trump’s reference to Gaza as a demolished site is appalling and callous. Gaza is not a construction project; it is a mass scale crime scene where buried bodies still need to be extracted and identified. Gaza’s destruction is a criminal act aided and abetted by the Biden administration.
AHRC joins the world community in soundly rejecting President Trump's ill- thought out and depraved ideas on Gaza. Palestinians who have endured 75 years of all forms of Israeli abuses are not going to give up their land to anyone. Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state.
AHRC was hoping that President Trump, a Nobel Peace Prize aspirant, lives up to his electoral promise to end wars and create peace. These stances are nothing but an invitation for more conflict and bloodshed.
President Trump's outrageous and unworkable ideas on Gaza dash all hopes of a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
AHRC is a strong believer in peace and coexistence. However, real, and lasting peace cannot be achieved based on eliminating and erasing Palestinians. The Palestinians are entitled to self-determination and statehood. Mr. Trump cannot change this reality and these facts.
“President Trump has not moved us closer to peace by even one inch, his 'suggestion' is in fact a setback for peace,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “It is not only the Palestinians that are against his outlandish suggestion, but the whole world is also,” added Hamad. "This is not The Apprentice and Mr. Trump is not running a seminar where all ideas, no matter how wild, are welcome," continued Hamad. "President Trump is the leader of the most powerful nation on earth and he should take that responsibility more seriously," concluded Hamad.
