Group Donates Horse for Akpabio's Campaign

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has received a unique gift to boost his campaign for reelection next year.

 
At a rally in Ikot Ekwere village, Nsit Ubium local government area, recently, the governor took delivery of a horse-gift, which the people said was to aide his movement during the campaign starting from next month.

 
Rev Effanga Inyang, who made the presentation on behalf of Ubium National Congress, said it was in appreciation of Governor Akpabio's unparalleled achievements in a space of two years.

The people also endorsed Dr Goodluck Jonathan for president and Senator Effiong Bob for reelection.

 
 “Your Excellency, as far as the governorship election is concerned, it is already confirmed. As far as President Goodluck Jonathan is concerned, it is already concluded…On behalf of Nsit National Congress, a core brother of Ubium National Congress, we wish to present to you, a unique gift. Your Excellency, you would be ridding on a horse for election. For your campaign, we present to you a horse here…your would be ridding on it around”, Inyang said.

 
Apart from the artwork also presented to the Governor Akpabio, Senator Bob and President Jonathan, the youths of the area further endorsed Akpabio for reelection by presenting him with a sword and a raffia scroll.

 
They said: “Your Excellency, even if you say you are not going to run, we say you must return to the Hilltop Mansion. This is our endorsement…you have made the entire state proud and has given us a sense of belonging”.

 
Senator Bob, who was received by his community at the rally, said the governor had shocked even his critics with his unprecedented strides, particularly in the area of free and compulsory education; free medical services as well as infrastructural development.

 
He again reiterated the support and commitment of members of the National Assembly Caucus from Akwa Ibom to the reelection of the governor as well as the president.

Responding, Akpabio commended the people of Ubium for endorsing him and described Senator Bob as an enigma that needs to be studied for PhD thesis.

 
While charging members of the National Assembly from Akwa Ibom State to continue serving the state with deep sense of dedication and love for their people; he particularly singled out Bob for commendation for his mature leadership style.

 
He also said the commitment to service and dedication of the national Assembly members from the state has checked confusion in the articulation of issues, while allowing for speedy development in the state.

 
Akpabio said gone are the days when Akwa Ibom people sere polarised into Home and Abuja Fronts, thereby scuttling every chances of progress and provision of democracy dividends to the people
