•It makes me feel a complete woman

Nollywood bad gal and star of “Girls Hostel,” Empress Njama, has bared all to Sunday Sun in a manner that would blow your mind!

In an interview, she opened up on love, sex and marriage.
Contrary to the impression that she is a temptress, Empress insists its off target: “People look at me and say gush! She is a temptress! They look at me like oh! She is bad. But if you get to know me, I am just the opposite. I look wild on screen but I am just a homely girl.

I am not wild. It is just the persona I have created on screen. That is different from me. It depends on how learned one is to understand. It is a question of exposure.

“When I am on television, it is all make-belief. I could do a pastor's daughter in a flick, in another, I'd be wild! They are two different things. I would advise my fans not to be like what they see of me on television. It is all about exposing the ills of society. If they truly like me, they should listen to the message that I project.”

Romance
A lot of folks would argue passionately that there is nothing like 'love at first sight.' Empress sees it differently.
“I believe in love at first sight. People get your number from where ever and call you. I like it when guys toast me because it's normal. It reassures me of my womanhood. It's a big plus because it is frustrating if as a lady, you look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'what do I have to do to attract men.'

“Several girls are careless! The most important thing about a woman is her hair. Once her hair looks great and neat, the sky is the limit. I always tell my friends that they'd be shocked by the response they'd get from the opposite sex.”

“I love meeting people, making friends. I love meeting people who are honest and do not have things to hide. I hate pretenders. We pretend to be what we are not, to get what we want. It aches me! I have my own fair share of relationship and I will tell you. There is a whole lot to this thing called relationships. You take things step by step and it should end in marriage. If you make a mistake, you wont get to the ladder top.”

If smitten by Cupid's arrows, at what point would she role in the hay with her guy? ” It depends on the chemistry. People talk about it like it is something that you have a schedule for. It depends on what happens and how it happens. The girl is saying 'Hey! I am not a bitch and the guy is saying, 'I don't want to rush her.' That's pretence! I don't like pretenders! They are deadly people! One who pretends lies is fake, is a square peg in a round hole.”

Sexual harassment
“So what's the big deal? They say 'hello,' I say 'hi.' 'Can I have your number?' Sure! I give it to them. 'Can I call you?' No, You can't! What else do you want? It's about being able to handle them. Stardom is a total package. It's not just when people see you on the screen. How about the off-screens you.
“I handle male fans the way they come. A lot of people come to me and I accommodate them. I hate it when they say an artiste is snubish! Who are you snubbing? Those are the people that made you.”

Empress close-up
“I am not a difficult person. I am just down to earth. I like people who are neat and outspoken. I like people who can take care of themselves first, because the Bible says that 'cleanliness is next to godliness.' I won't forget that.

“The first time I fell in love is nothing to be proud of or read in papers. I don't want to talk about it. Why do you think I have had heartbreak?
“My heart is still with me. I never gave it out. Life is full of fun. Remember those teenage years when Valentine came around and you got promises that he's taking you out but you never know when the date is so you buy yourself a Teddy Bear and tell your friends he bought it for you.”

Role models
“Oh my God! I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love Jada Pincket for her style. She is petit but has a large heart. I respect Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva. I met them at a tender age. I have always been like a daughter to them. I respect Sam Dede. I won't say I love him but he has this thing about acting all over him. I respect the way he takes his lines and interprets his roles. I love Eucharis Anunobi.”
