Federal High Court Affirms Suspension Of PDP Vice Chairman, Odefa

A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital has affirmed the suspension of Chief Ali Odefa as the National Vice Chairman, SE of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odefa was suspended from the party on October 4, 2024 by the Executive committee of the party at his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State for alleged anti-party activities.

Delivering judgement on the matter in suit no FHC/AI/CS/182/2024 between Herbert Ovuta and Odefa, the presiding Judge, Justice Hilary Oshomah ruled that the suspension was valid

The court ordered Odefa to stop parading himself as the National Vice Chairman of the party.

Recently, In a press conference held in Onicha Local Government by the Ward Executive Committee of the party led by its Acting Ward Chairman, Hebert Ovuta said that the party accused Odefa of anti-party activities.

Ovuta also said that he party noted that the suspension of Ali Odefa was in line with the provision of section 57 (3) of the PDP constitution.

The Acting Chairman said , "we are here to inform you of the resolution of the Ward Executive Committee of PDP Oguduokwor Ward to suspend Chief Ali Odefa the National Vice Chairman of the PDP Southeast Zone on the grounds of his anti-party activities and other offences which is destructive to the name of our dear party PDP.

“His suspension is in compliance with provision of section 57(3) of the PDP constitution.

“It is also important to inform you that we have further referred Chief Ali Odefa to the Ward Disciplinary Committee of the party.”
